External Links, Third-Party Sources and Attribution Notice

This notice explains how RMCA uses external links, public records and third-party source material. It clarifies that links and citations do not amount to endorsement, that external content can change, and that users should check authoritative sources directly before acting on attributed information.

This notice clarifies attribution, source authority, copyright and non-affiliation.

1. Source purpose

RMCA uses source links to support identity, regulatory, corporate, protection, safeguarding, complaint, insolvency, event and historical information. A link identifies the source reviewed; it does not transfer responsibility for that source to RMCA.

2. Authority and freshness

Official registers and authorities remain authoritative for their own records. RMCA records the date and source class checked and may provide a structured summary. A source may change, move, be unavailable or contain an error. Users should re-check the official source for time-sensitive decisions.

3. Company and third-party statements

A statement taken from an entity’s website or document is identified as an entity statement unless independently corroborated. Inclusion of a brand, firm or source does not imply contact, consent, participation, endorsement or affiliation. Unclaimed records ordinarily use text-only brand references unless use of a logo is authorised and appropriate.

4. Copyright and quotation

RMCA summarises and cites rather than reproduces substantial third-party content. Quotations are limited and attributed. Users must obtain permission for third-party material where required and must not assume RMCA can license it.

5. External services

RMCA is not responsible for external website availability, privacy, cookies, security, accessibility, transactions or content. Links are opened at the user’s risk.

6. Correction route

Broken links, source errors or attribution concerns may be reported to corrections@rmca.org.uk.

Accuracy, availability and liability

RMCA uses reasonable care appropriate to the stated scope, source class and publication process, but public information may be incomplete, delayed, superseded, jurisdiction-specific or affected by source errors. No representation is made that a website, register, source link, alert or data feed is continuously available, complete, real-time or suitable for a user’s particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, RMCA excludes implied warranties and shall not be liable merely because a person reads, downloads, receives or relies on public information. Nothing excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any mandatory liability under applicable consumer law. Contractual users may have separately stated rights and limits.

Governing law and legal effect

Unless a separate contract states otherwise, these terms and non-contractual obligations arising from them are governed by the law of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights, applicable consumer forum, arbitration or ADR rule that cannot lawfully be displaced.

Nothing in these terms overrides mandatory local law. If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, it is treated as modified to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions continue.

Changes and contact

RMCA may amend this document prospectively to reflect law, technology, programme scope, operating arrangements or risk. The current version, effective date and material change note should appear on the canonical page. Continued use after an effective change constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by law; material contractual changes follow the applicable contract.
