Website Legal Information and Footer Disclosure Standard

This standard records the legal and institutional disclosures that RMCA websites should present consistently. It covers company identity, registered office, programme ownership, non-statutory status, operator transparency and the legal links needed to help users understand who is responsible for the website and its materials.

4. Footer standard

Every public website footer should display the full registered name, company number, England and Wales, registered office link, non-statutory statement, privacy, cookies, terms, accessibility, corrections and security links. Programme sites must state “An RMCA programme” and link to the RMCA legal-status notice.

Do not describe the company as “Limited” where the registered name lawfully omits that word. Do not omit the legal form from the company-information page.

5. Email and response limitations

Email is not a secure channel for confidential evidence, complaint files, bank details or special-category data. Sending an email does not create a lawyer-client relationship, privilege, acceptance of service, participation or a duty to act unless expressly confirmed.
